What We Are Doing to Reduce Maternal Deaths

[I] Summary of Objectives and Plan

  • There is an alarming increase in maternal deaths, during and after giving birth, to women and especialy among Black women in America and also minority women among other races and ethnic groups in USA.

  • Many of these involve cardiac failure resulting in death or serious comorbidities.

  • Many of these tragic outcomes can be averted by improving observation and measurements, leading to more accurate and earlier diagnoses, and then treatments which are often simple (non-invasive, non-surgical).
